Summer is almost over

In a month I'll be back studying. The prospect of this is both exciting and terrorizing

I have taken advantage of studio access while it lasted this past few months. It really reminded me of having a spot in the Mile-End and how I shared my time between work and painting, while getting ready to apply to the Academy.

It's done!

Riding the metro in New York gives you a lot of time to think about life, death, art and everything in between. 

My first year in the Academy has ended, quite recently and strangely enough feels quite abruptly. I have only scratched the surface of what I want to do.

Progress

The week before spring break was a real struggle. I could not figure out colour and temperature and fluctuated between making everything cotton candy coloured but flat or almost monochromatic but volumetric.

New perspective

I take my words back, the change has not been unnoticeable. I am given information so quickly and in such quantities that I can not assimilate it fast enough. It's like watching a movie where the sound is not synched with the image.
